Learn from me, young Padawan.
I’m posting these awkward photos of my friend @khristiansilvisforhd84 to invite you to Sips, Salsa, Silvis on July 23, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at @8thirtyfour .
The primaries are under a month away, and Lord knows we need good people representing us. I’ve shared an office with Khristian and her team for the past several months, and she has worked her a** off. I can’t think of anything more awful than going door-to-door in 90-degree weather to talk to people.
She is one of the real ones, so come to 834’s new second-floor digs; I’ll shake you up a margarita, you can pet a dog or three and support fellow margarita lover, Khristian Silvis, in her run for Michigan’s 84th House District.
Register at the link in my profile.
Mornings with the pack.

What’s it like having 6 dogs sleep with you? Exhibit A.
🐕no room for your legs.
🦮king size bed; single for the humans.
🐩bed on a bed.
🐾wake with a crick in your neck.
🦴it’s their world, we’re just living in it
The power of the @smallbusinessassocofmichigan Women’s Entrepreneurial Fellowship is best described by the second-stage WOSBs in it. Ashley Connelly, 25-26 grad, sums it up:
“If you’re a second stage woman business owner seeking an fellowship program that allows for the participants to be FULLY authentic 💃 , network with peers for advice, celebrate each other’s successes and failures all while being exposed to amazing speakers who are also practitioners - SIGN UP! ✅ People involved in this program GET IT... they understand what is means to be and think like an entrepreneur.”
Apply for the next cohort, launching in October. Deadline is mid-September.

WEF is a program built by business owners for business owners, which is what makes it so incredible. The women chosen for the program have access to resources, mentorship, peer support, and 9 months of learning focused on the emotional and practical.
Little bitty Bode.
I have a vision board that never was fully realized. It looked really cool, and then I never put anything on it. What I started doing instead, sort of accidentally, was creating my happy board.
It’s my reminder when everything feels like it’s going wrong, and everybody hates you, and you can’t do anything right, that you matter. You matter to somebody.
It’s covered in things I’ve spoken at, stickers of my dogs, and notes I’ve gotten from people. Life can be really really heavy, so surround yourself with the good…and create a very visual, in-your-face reminder of your happy.
My love for @thebeeandthefox knows no bounds. Thanks for making shirts that capture my essence and life stance.
